At the beginning of this course I'm taking at Hofstra, I created a Twitter account in order to spread some news about teaching and technology. I try to use it as often as possible, so be sure to check it out!

SMART Notebook 11
Using SMART Notebook 11 software, I was able to create an interactive lesson on counting coins and dollar bills. I think that having access to a SMART Board is a great privilege. It allows the children to get up out of their seats and take part in the lesson I'm giving. They wouldn't just be raising their hands and answering questions, they would be actually seeing them and writing out the answers themselves. They would get to feel like the teacher in a way.
I can't post the actual lesson here, but I here are screenshots of how it would look after it has been completed by the students:

The students would use a pen or a finger to write in the values.
The values would be fixed, but the coins are set to infinite cloning. This way, the students can use their fingers to drag the coins into the table.

Glogster
Hello again!
I've created a Glogster to explain how important I think music is to a child's education. A Glog is basically an interactive poster. I think that making Glogs could be a fun way for older students to complete projects. Not only would it eliminate students having to carry posters around, but it is also a way to be more green!
